In what way does your game fit the theme?
You can rewind the time and cooperate with your past self.

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
We wrote most of the code ourself during the jam, but some sound effects are not made by us and some of the code is from previous projects.

I like the concept a lot! Just a few comments:

  • Add in-game tooltips for controls, it makes player's life so much easier :).
  • If you use the prototype assets, I found it help to have the walls a different colors than the ground. Here a lot of assets are white and can make a bit confusing.
  • Reduce the number of buttons (purple and red have the same behavior, sort of...)
  • You have two rewind mechanisms (platform + R key), stick with one, it will be less confusing. My advice would be to keep the "R" rewind and use the pressure plate for the box interactions (currently, the blue pressure plate have two functions which can be confusing).
  • I was unable to complete the third level, I think the platform are a little bit too quick. It could also be that I'm a bit too slow!

I feel that I say that a lot, but with a bit more polish you would have a great game!

Keep up the good work!

Thanky you for your feedback! I think you've highlighted my biggest mistake in this jam: I solved too many problems by just adding more features instead of improving my level design. The blue pressure plate was supposed to make it so that the player couldn't just run through the map without ever rewinding. A much better solution would've been to do what Kaspian (my friend who developed the game with me) did in level 1. He used doors to lock the player in after they had pressed a button, removing the need for a forced rewind.

About level 3, try using your rewind after you've pressed the buttons ;)

Info

  • Interact with a button to press it.
  • Drop a box on a pressure plate to press it.
  • Red buttons and  pressure plates trigger the an action, such as opening a door or extending a piston.
  • Blue pressure plates force you to rewind.
  • Yellow pressure plates lock boxes that are placed on them in place.
  • Pink buttons become unpressed 2 seconds after they are pressed.
  • Your "clones" (representations of your previous self) will follow your exact path, even if that means walking through closed doors.

  • Shift - Run
  • Mouse - Look around
  • E - Interact
