The goal of the game is to dive deeper. To do so, you need to kill the fishes & sharks by typing words before they eat you

I've made all the code from scratch, but I used assets from the public domain (listed on the credits) for the design, sound & music

The typing is a unique idea, no other game has this. But gameplay is rather monotonous, you need to work on it. Overall a great game :)
Thank you for your feedback. I wanted to work more on it before the due time but I missed time, so I'll make the changes later. For now I'm thinking about it and taking any ideas from anyone.

Fun and very polished typing game. We used the same tileset :)
I did encounter one issue where a long word was obscured by the environment so I couldn't see it before the fish got to me.

For the difficulty, I've made sure everyone can start quite easily. The difficulty is evolving but I planned on modifying the way it change, to have more fishes, make the game faster ...
Simple and satysfying game, amazing artwork. Also good that volume is not imidiately set to very loud and the volume settings save between sessions :)

Especially love the creativity will the ocean/sea based words. Not to mention the art style is beautiful. Also love the concept of the game too, you don't tend to find many typing games anymore.
Was quite stressful, especially with fish appearing from the foreground areas, and right next to you. Required fast reaction and typing (Which i dont have lol)

Fun fact: I tried to use chatgpt to generate the dictionary of words related to the theme of the game jam, but when I asked for 100 words of 3 letters he game me words and remove the letters. Ocean became Oce... An other time he gave me a list of 100 time the same word. And for the longer words, he put multiple words together... I ended up searching for a list with Google and create my own.
For the art, I found the tile map on open game art. I'm not an artist 😔 but later I'll try to create my own and create different ambiances according to how deep you are !
I asked my friend to try it, to have an idea of the difficulty, because I'm slow at typing too 😂

I want the game to be progressively hard. Start slow and make you sweat after a while. I still need to upgrade the way the difficulty evolves during the game. I got some idea, but I needed some feedback first. I don't want it to be to hard to fast.
Typing games remind me of of a a different time, and this is a very nice one. I got to about 1000m and then got munched by a fish. A simple music loop could go a long way!

I made sure it wasn't to hard on start. It gets harder the deeper you go, but I still need to make some adjustments on the way the difficulty evolves.
