How does your game fit the theme?
it requires deep thinking since you cant see where the ball will bounce and you'll have to draw the trajectory off the ball in your mind

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
All code by me
All Art by me
credits is in the credit tab inside the game

Had a lot of fun with this one! The premise is pretty basic but it works well, especially for being made in such a short amount of time. I don't see any connection to the theme though lol. If there's one criticism I have it's how the ball bounces off of angled walls: it doesn't make sense from a geometry standpoint and it made it impossible for me to guess how the ball would bounce when going off it. Some of the levels I could see where things would go and strategize, and those were great! But others quickly devolved into me just trying out a bunch of angles until it worked. I think with a little more time and tweaks this could be a really fun puzzle game :) Great job overall!

You can check out my gameplay video playtest below for some more in-depth feedback!

Simple but well made and fun game!

My only critic to the game is that the ball could've a trajectory line preview, imho it would make the player feel good looking at the ball going in the right direction and planned trajectory before launching it

I can see the effort you have put in into this game and it's real solid one. In my opinion it kinda does not match the theme of the Jam, I just can't see going deeper anywhere. Would change how the ball bounce too, especially on 45° walls, for better game flow and experience ball should go up instead of bouncing back on the 45° I use this physics in my similar game to yours and it works just fine! Anyway I really liked the game but the theme is a miss.

So glad to see I'm not alone in the 45 degree walls not bouncing how I expected them too lol.

You can see the effort put into developing this game. It's very interactive and fun.

the game is pretty nice. i have an advise. maybe you should make grounds elastic.

Liked this game, and really appreciate the fact that there is a level editor! I'd love to see this game be worked on in the future if you're up to the task :)

Simple, yet addictive game. I like the concept and the puzzles are a good difficulty. Well done!

The idea is cool. Good mechanics and easy controls

Very impressive that you made this in a day and even included a level editor! Nice work!

I liked the simple feel of it. The ambient music fits it perfectly. The sounds are also dope.

Thank You So Much!! :)

Great idea for a game. My only suggestion would be to add a target indicator of some kind. Like a ray that extends at least through the fist bounce. Some pretty precise shots are required to beat it, and even once you know the bounce path you want, It can be EXTREMELY challenging to gauge your angle

Developer

Thank you :) and the thing is if I add a target indicator it would kind of defeat the purpose of the theme of the game which is to think deeper to kind of draw out in your mind where the bounce will happen but I will add the  target indicator after the jam ends so the theme wont matter anymore :) Again Thank You So Much!! :)

Bouncin off the walls!

Things I enjoyed ✔️

  1. I like the art style you chose for the game! Nice and simple!
  2. I love the sound design! It sounds great!
  3. The gameplay loop was enjoyable! Challenging, but fun!

Things I would like to possibly see with your title. 🤷‍♂️

  1. Maybe a short tutorial on what to do at the beginning.
  2. After a person attempts multiple times, possibly give a hint of where to hit if theyd like one.

Overall 📓

I had fun playing your game, it was difficult but rewarding! Great job on this game you did did a great job polishing!

Nice concept though the reflecting of the ball on the surfaces doesn't really respect physics. Great progress for a 7 day game!

Submitted(+1)

I like the game concept for this!! Though the I feel like the difficulty in level 5 was a bit too hard

Awesome that you managed to get a full game like this with a sandbox as well!

Don't think the theme is quite evident, and there's some physics behaviours that I would have liked to see. Such as the ball, when bouncing on a 45 degree wall, taking the wall angle into account.

Great work!

The fact that it was made in a day and it even include a level editor is actually very impressive. However I don't really see how the theme was applied here.
Anyways, Cool Game!!

Developer

Deep thinking :)! Thats the theme :) And Thank You!!
