The art was great and the lighting gave the whole scene a nice atmosphere vibe.

The Bosses were a bit lacking, however, and some attacks were literally impossible to dodge (the second boss beams while moving down. Also the ice dragon summons spikes [with weird hitboxes] while snow is falling and while icey-movements prevent quick dodges.). Attacking also didn’t feel rewarding at all. Also, I could not skip the text in-between scenes.

Also, since the skip button and attack button are the same, I tended to skip a few lines of the boss-dead dialogue due to my spamming of the button. In addition, ice physics…

However, for an unfinished game (as the ending said), this is pretty good. A little more juice and polish and I’d say you’d have something fun. Thank you for sharing.

Speaking of which, I’d recommend just giving the player a double jump from the start, instead of only after the first boss. It wouldn’t affect how the player attacks the first boss either way.

The art is really good. The bosses were tough but I enjoyed the challenge. I really liked playing this game. Good job

If you are interested, could you please play my game. It would really help.

3.75/5 Good Job! Bosses were a little tough

Sticking with initial review, best of luck to you!

Hey there, I am trying to get other to re-submit their reviews for my game if possible...it was deleted and removed from the Jam on accident based on a technicality which was solved between the Jam Host and a particular asset used in the game...please if you have time, energy, and/or generosity to re-saved your ratings/reviews for the game. I am going through and re-saving yours given my browser kept your rating saved data on my end...but it looks like I lost all 73 reviews and ratings from my end....  :( best of luck to you in the Jam

Sorry for the inconvenience if you have a chance to rate/re-rate

Art style is nice, game looks pretty, the bosses are very hard tho.

I really enjoyed the art style, especially the character and his attacks and animation look pretty awesome. The actual boss is a bit too challenging for me and very unforgiving. I lose sight of him and then I'm left with dodging until I hopefully find him. Also really fun music.

I enjoy the gloomy aesthetic and art style, the character also looks nice, and the story is good as far as I played, though I think it was a bit long-winded with the exposition text.

The boss was way too difficult, and the controls weren't tight enough for such unforgiving windows to dodge the spikes. There was a significant delay on attacking, and the extra momentum after you stop moving makes it very easy to be stuck in place and get hit- or slide into the spikes while they're active. The projectile the boss fires often comes from off-screen making it very easy to get hit by as well.

Thank you so much for your feedback! We wanted to add difficulty levels but sadly we didn't have enough time left... Next time we'll make sure to prioritize it!

I like hard core games. Though I don't have time now to complete it but I may found time in future.

These statements are just my humble opinion. Do not take it to heart <3

Pros:

  • I like how controls are showed at the start f the game. It's convenient.
  • Various location, various art environment. I like diversity. It reminds me of the TES:Skyrim that I am playing.

Cons:

  • It would be cool If player's velocity set to zero on DOWN press. I found it difficult to dodge "spikes" on the first boss on full speed. Game forces me to move slowly because of momentum. So to stop instantly I need press away LEFT or RIGHT button... mmm OK. It's not drawback actually, just my taste.
  • The second boss does not have any feedback about taking damage from the player. It's frustrating. I see that there is slight red tint but for the second boss It's very very subtle, hard to notice. And another things It seems to me that wave height is too big but I may be wrong.   I've came to game's page and saw that I have double jump xD. There is a situation when boss make side attack and wave attack simultaneously, no way to dodge this, It could be fixed by lower duration of side attack presence in the level.
  • Some more SFX would have been nice.

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback! I really appreciate it. We'll definitely take those things into consideration in the future!

Cool game, it needs sounds feedback when you receive damage or the enemy is attacking, but it is fun
