Like the title says, do we have to wait until the voting is over to update the game?

I have friends who want to try out my game and there's a few bugs I'd like to iron out. I'm wondering if I update the game and upload it to my game page, does that mess with the version submitted for the competition? Or are those two pages separate uploads?
