I played a few hours and had a lot of fun rearranging the layout, organizing items, and finding ways to save time crafting and serving food faster to make the cafe more efficient. Another anon I played with preferred the building and aesthetic part and it was fun collaborating together and messing around.

The main issue I have is the controls don’t feel pleasant. The movement is slow, it’s hard to grab things like the mop or trays with big items on them, the basket gets grabbed easily when trying to get coffee from the machine with the tray, it’s hard to place tables together, and spills that spawn directly underneath a customer table can’t be clicked on to clean up because of the table’s simple hitbox. The little annoyances add friction to the replayability. Co-op could be improved as well by making it easier to communicate, such as allowing players to claim an order so two don’t make the same order twice.

Lag also accelerates camera movement and makes it frustrating trying to progress the game. After doing several steps to make a hard drink, sometimes I would get a lag spike and accidentally click the wrong one on a tray and ruin it, or the lag would spin the camera around suddenly looking behind me or at the ceiling. I also made less money doing more work so I avoided progressing the game beyond tea until the cafe was fully expanded. I think fixing the lag and controls, introducing one new item at a time, and increasing the returns would make the progression more fun.

Also ran into several rare bugs I was unable to reproduce, like empty cups actually having drinks in them. I suspect they were due to lag or lost packets from my internet dropping causing items and player state to desync.

Even with the issues though it’s still fun. Looking forward to the next demo.

I'm amazed how steadily this game improves. Multiplayer is amazing. Good job fixing the old bugs.

Did have a bit of stuttering and network hangups during the multiplayer, but that might have been my internet.

I honestly don't know what to tell you, it seems you're locked in with this game. Proximity VC may be a great idea, dunno if you have it on your roadmap.

Fantastic stuff, as usual.

Played this on stream and had a a lot of silly fun. Here are some screenshots I took while playing.

played a bunch of it with the boys on stream.

great fun

considering that not everyone is going to have voice chat and typing can be cumbersome, maybe there should be some kind of quick system to tell others what to do? simple commands, like make a coffe, clean a table etc.

i got stuck at first, not knowing how i was supposed to make the coffees, which lead me to think i wouldnt like the game. But then i figured it out and the game became really fun. But im not sure how much the gameplay can scale as a singleplayer experience as tending to 5 customers seemed to be the max i could handle? as a multiplayer experience i can see the cafe growing more and more which sounds really fun.

some other thoughts:

maybe the stemed milk should have an indicator that its full/done, i got stuck for a minute where the milk was one step from being done and i tried using it.

not sure why you can add non steamed milk to a coffee when i dont think any customer wants it? for a minute i got stuck on "wrong order" when adding regular milk instead of steamed.

maybe the game progresses a bit too slow? i didnt see any new order types even though there seems to be many ingredients and equipments to use. do i need to buy the ingredients before new recipes show up?

i tried figuring stuff out on my own mostly as the tutorial from what i remember didnt do a step by step showcase of how to tend, prepare and serve a customer.

i wouldnt mind the movement speed being faster tbh
