I killed some soimen and a big octopus after becoming god with upgrades. The enemies spawn at a good rate and it's fun to shoot them. The duck is cool but why does it have no eyes, kinda creepy. The upgrades seem a bit op, I'm sure if you decreased them a bit they would be more balanced. The octopus fight was cool and looked good visually. What are your plans for this game going forward?

Developer(+1)

Yeah, the upgrades were basically just a proof of concept of getting XP from killing enemies

I want to make some assets to populate the levels with props, and design more enemies and bosses. But it will also depend on what other anons contribute.

Thanks for the feedback!

Can I contribute?

Sure!, the repo can be found here:

https://gitgud.io/cg22/agdg-unity-spike

We normally communicate via the /agdg/ thread or just by opening an issue in the repo; feel free do whichever you prefer.

Demotivating messages are too fast, especially long ones are hard to read.

Crabchan just scrolls in endlessly, albeit getting slower, let it run for a bit, ruins the Effect. Consider scrolling in and out.

You can fall of the boss Arena, and boss just dissappears after a while, leaving you with nothing to do.

Duck makes surprisngly huge amounts of Sense, acting as a moveable cover.

Upgrades are overpowered, way to many Points.

Cute Soundeffects.

Both the exp system and the boss were quite rushed to get them into DD, hopefully we can make them better for the next one!

Thanks for playing!

Dunno if you saw my stream of your game since you mentioned it in the thread, but if you didn't, you can catch a recording of it here:

It's sad that the game was unplayable due to the input bug.

Thanks for the feedback though, it'll be more robust next DD.

Trying to shoot at nodevs is fun, but it's not fun that aiming didn't work at all. I was always facing up and to the left.

Every enemy disintegrating into bits on death made me smile, whoever thought of that deserves a raise

It's missing some basic wave shooter features, like holding to shoot, but is otherwise enjoyable. Surprised the boss was an octopus instead of a crab flinging insults at you

Final score: I fell off the map after the boss fight and the duck followed me and he stayed out of bounds foever / 10

crab / 10

Having to click for every shot in a game where you want to be shooting all the time feels bad.
The game probably could just have continuous auto-shoot.

we added continuous fire on button hold.
