An intriguing adventure in a well-realized world! I would have liked being able to skip the text scroll, but I enjoyed settling into the world and getting to know Riverbend and its inhabitants. I especially appreciate the extra details and different camera angles in each scene to emphasize certain aspects of the environment, rather than the more common trap of having a bunch of nearly featureless rooms with identical viewports. Cool stuff!
The text scroll was a late addition and, let's call it under implemented. Glad you enjoyed the story. Thanks for playing!
Finished this one and I do think it's a really interesting story. I would play the next chapter to see where it's going. The visual style is very holistic and consistent, and the environments, especially the buildings, look really good. You clearly put a lot of thought into the structure of the story and it unfolds in a compelling way. (And thanks for giving me a hint, haha.)
The main thing I'd work on is just the sheer amount of text. It's definitely quite a bit wordier than it needs to be, to the extent that it's interfering with my enjoyment of the story. Trimming it to be more concise would make it a much tighter and therefore even more compelling story.
I'm glad you made it to the end. Thanks for playing!
I think I may have found a bug. I assume "initium" should say "start", and it should be clickable? I've hit a wall in this game and I think it's because I can't open this book.
Actually the book is not used in this version of the game and was related to content that was cut to make the deadline. Try talking to people again. Sometimes what you learn from one person opens up new conversation topics with other people. If that doesn't help, feel free to DM me and I can provide other hints - just don't want to spoil anything for others.
Ah, another game made with Adventure Creator :D I had to play it! Well done by the way, nice project!
The visuals look like this other game: https://itch.io/jam/adventure-jam-2022/rate/1561014
Could it be that you used the same assets? Congrats anyway for your release in time!
Perhaps not the same but similar, probably from the same company. Glad you had fun!
