Hard fun) Driving around the city listening to pop music that you turned on on the radio, turning the steering wheel with one hand and pressing on the gas with the other hand, cool! I'd add a goofy dinosaur face reflection to the mirror to make it even more fun

- The humor/vibe of this is really charming, but the controls were a bit too jank to be fun for me
What do you like about your game?
The car and dragon model.

genuinely thought i might cry if i couldnt find my office after making it so far downtown, with the looping bob dylan knockoff, but 50 red lights ignored later I made it work just in time.
Fun game, the janky controls are engaging indeed and you are already aware from others about some of the inaccurate inputs. I think the biggest thing for me was trying to move my hand from high positions on the wheel but it snapping to window view. I also desperately tried to shift into a higher gear (against my better judgement) and it just wasnt gonna happen. might be a skill issue though.
grats on the release!
The steering wheel might be a bit harder to balance. Because the way it is now, it lets you do small adjustments while looking at the road. If I put it entirely down then you lose that small advantage. I will have to figure how to fix that issue. And the gearbox is fault of the visible model not matching the hitboxes.
Thank you for your feedback!
i fuken did it aaaaah
not much to say, the controls are insane but thats the whole point, tho one thing that would be nice is a dead zone in the center so you could actually do things while going forward (like changing speed)
ps: i do not have my license, does that make me a dragon?
That's amazing!
And the controls is something I will definitely fix after this is over. They are supposed to be clunky and weird but they should feel fair and responsive. They are not and is something I should have spent more time on.
I'm glad you enjoyed the game. Thank you for playing it!
That makes you a certified Dragon.
Not bad. The concept is fun but the execution could be improved.
For me the biggest issue is the controls being unresponsive. I get that's part of the game, but even games that have "janky controls" as a mechanic try to be as accurate as possible to the player inputs. I hope I don't sound too harsh if I point out some issues that I had.
For example, I struggled a lot with changing gear (I was often forced to go in reverse). The area to grab the gear lever is too small and requires the cursor to be in a very specific position. And when moving the lever it kept snapping into the wrong positions. Also the steering wheel is too close to the lower side of the screen, so I often accidentally switched to the cockpit view while trying to steer. One solution may be to increase the area where the mouse clicks are registered (it doesn't have to be 1:1 with the visible model, you can keep expanding it until it starts overlapping with other clickable areas) or to map some actions like switching view to other buttons.
Apart from these technicalities I really enjoyed the game (I played until I reached the end). I liked that the map was visible only in the cockpit and I really liked the music selection.
I knew that was one of the main issues, however I spent the time trying to fix some errors with the car controller (which I couldn't do 100%) and the map. I made so many mistakes on how I managed the time that I barely could put something playable together before the deadline. The model and actual colliders are things I plan to fix once the jam is over. I know it can be frustrating because I always have to remember you can't rely on what you see.
Thank you for your words.
I can't even begin to comprehend how to play this, but dagnabbit I'm charmed. Dragons really can't drive.
Nice game overall, but I do feel like the integration of the jam theme was weak.
I managed to start the car and get onto a roundabout, but since I don't know how to drive in real life, I didn't get very far.
Using both the left and right mouse buttons makes the game a bit confusing. theres have to be a better way to control the car parts
Did you play Enviro-Bear 2000 ?
Bro, dragons really can't drive?
that or maybe just I can't because I cannot figure out how to accelerate lol
