This is a pretty interesting experience. The character design and actual art is pretty great and very creative.


To preface I like the experience, it has a storyline with a very literal approach and has some levity sprinkled throughout. That being said, in many ways, its more of a kinetic experience than a game and it seems thats where a lot of friction comes from. I think its a pretty cool basis for some type of rogue-like game, but it would probably have taken a lot to eke that out during a game jam. I just think the base concept is cool with 5 card-like parts to fight with.

Either way, its succinct but I enjoyed it, congrats on the release

though i do think this concept is super interesting i feel like it ends a bit too soon for me, the whole body part replacement is a super rad mechanic, and the pixel art for the monsters is just absolutely beautiful. with the linearity of the game it can feel a little bit like a series of quick time events in a long cutscene, but it's definitely a solid foundation for something in the future.

The art is great and the story was pretty cool. The combat system is super simplistic but it definitely has some potential. Good job.

Very cool game! I think the art was really good, I loved the 2d-in-3d style.
I do think that the gameplay was a little too simplistic for my liking, perhaps this "choose which body part" combat could have worked well with a turn based RPG system, or even a card game system, which could add more strategy and make the game more engaging. And although I really liked the idea of showing the character's transformation into a monster through gameplay, I think the spoken dialogue really took me out of it, I think it would have worked better with a more show-don't-tell style.
I do thing this is a really interesting entry, though, and I would love to see it further improved upon if you have plans to do so post-jam :)

I do think that the whole limb replacement feature would work better in a style of game with more choice, but I'll disagree on the dialogue point. It was a great comedic visual novel. Top-notch boss fight!
