I liked it a lot, really simple but fun, my only criticism are 2 things:

  • I kinda wish you could move mid air, it might make the movement just a bit more dynamic (although if that goes against design it works fine)
  • It might be me but I feel like the SFXs were too quiet and had to turn up a lot the volume of my computer(I played the web ver.)

Aside those points it is a really solid game!

Very fun and fast paced, I really like the the fact that you collect different types of protein as your collectibles that's a really charming detail

It was a nice little high-score chaser for the jam! Graphics were simple, but good, would love to have some kind of music as well! Choices seem to have their weight, and going down feels fun, when the generetation doesn’t give you the middle finger. (happens rarely thankfully)

Well made entry for the jam!

Highscore: 13440 (bit of a shame that you hardcoded your own into the game, you could take that as a challange though)

I appreciate how this game has a lot of nice "little" touches (like the title/instructions scrolling up as part of the game play, the food popping up, and the nice animation for the scoring).

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :-)

Nice job Zortal! I really like the design of the rooftops and the game is fast paced and fun. I feel like the pace of movement could be faster and the game would feel more fluid (or perhaps my computer is just slow). Allowing diagonal jumps could make it more fun too. I like to think that this could be developed into a longer game, with rooftops that go up as well as down and different sets of collectibles with power-ups included, along with a backstory for why this ninja abhors the other food groups.

It's a web build issue, it should be running solid 60 fps locally and it's nice and fast then!

Thanks for the feedback! I think I might explore this down the line as next project with a bit more plot too :D

I played the desktop version too but I think there was lag was on my computer (too many things open including other jam games).

I hope you do continue it. I get from the game description that the story is somewhat arbitrary but some of the best game franchises are. I mean, someone could take random elements like a plumber, turtles, mushrooms and a flower that makes you shoot fireballs and mash them together and I bet it would work.
