  • I am so torn on this game you can't imagine. Visuals are awesome, characters hilarious, AND the game is voiced - AMAZING!!! Kudos for this. The first cut scene and then the presidential room had me laughing so hard. However the game is not playable and I see in the comments that you're aware of this. 2 stars for the story because I couldn't see the entire thing (but it started out amazing), 5 stars for audio because I adore voice acted games, especially for streamers that's just fantastic. Trump's voice was so on point lol! Puzzle design, sadly 2 stars because I couldn't use any of the items, they wouldn't disappear after picking them up, most interactions were broken. I couldn't really solve any puzzles. But I bet they would've been great and hilarious if they worked. Characters were hilarious, 5 stars here, Marco on the couch had me rolling on the floor. Visuals also 5 stars, I absolutely loved the pixel art and you did an insanely good job with it. Funness again 2 stars because the game didn't work but it made me laugh and if you release it on Steam I will for sure buy it! It just needs more time, I can see the potential. Great job over all! I absolutely adore the old Monkey Island kind of controls - take your time with these, add hilarious reactions to different interactions, and you're gonna have a great game on your hands.
  • Very glitchy though the puzzles were okay
  • This would have been a pretty fun little short game, but there were so many issues with it. I had to restart 3 times because of bugs. The hotspots are off and seem to work inconsistently, all of which made the game not as fun to play as it should have been. Good work on voice acting. I know how hard that is to get in a jam game.

My utter loathing of a certain person meant that it took a while for me to try this game, but the idea is really funny. Also very nice work with the graphics. I had quite a bit of trouble with the interface, and I see you intend to improve that in the near future. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out then, especially if you add another room. The ending would likely make more sense too, then.

If you want, I can give you a list of the issues that I encountered, but you're probably already aware of them.

Yes, I struggled with this polarizing figure too. It is a niche I am exploring and could be considered explosive. For Pixel Parody I had made a lot of US Presidency rooms and assets, but I was always hesitant to release something with US politics as topic. So this jam was ideal for me with the switch to an alternative character.

The day before the deadline I was almost ready to give up. A talkie is always much more work than I thought. But I am glad that I did because I got a lot of feedback and got some energy to fix them. Will be released after the jam jury is done.

Very funny concept! :D I just wonder if it is possible to finish the game, or is the office the last scenario in the game? I tried using "use" and dragging knife on paint, and cassette inside VHS player, but all I got is same reply. Was it intended that the player should stand still in the toilet scenario / cutscene?

No the player should stay put during the cutscenes, and it is one of the many bugs. All rooms have this problem and I discovered this just after submitting the game. So to squash all these bugs and improve the interface I joined another jam, awaiting the results of this jam (and playing as much of the games submitted in this jam).

Somewhere, if allowed I will add a more bugfree release.

And I had planned to add a ‘Wargames’ kind of room where a Matthew Brodderick lookalike kids plays the game with W.O.P.R. where the Star Wars satellite is used in the game and wreaks havoc among all communication sats in low orbit. But I had to cut these due to time constraints and ended up with one room and multiple cutscenes.

Right, then I guessed right that the player should stand still and not interact during cutscene :)

This applies to my game too, as I had too little time to add artworks, content, exploration etc. I considered joining that jam, but I'll pass this time, as I prefer to improve at my steady time :)

I read your devlog and game page. I love intellectually stimulating games, no matter what genre if it is comedy, horror, etc.!

I can imagine that scenario, I'm looking forward to playing your game with less bugs and with more content! Keep up the great work! :)

Presentation and setup are well done, unfortunately I ran into a bug where I couldn't interact with anything shortly after the gameplay started. I believe I broke things by accidently clicking on the mysterious box before doing anything with the loose couch cushion (the name for it popped up even with the cushion obscuring it, which makes me feel like I shouldn't be able to attempt to interact with it yet.)

Developer (1 edit)

Yes that happened to me too when I was ‘Testing’. Could not reproduce it then. It has to do with some state that blocks playermovement during some animation. That is brittle, and I will add this to my list of improvements to do. Joined a new jam to do this: https://itch.io/jam/improve-my-game-jam-41
