I think the fact that the monster makes no sound until he’s literary next to you is terrifying. Teleportation was a cool gimmick, because of low visibility every time you use it you risk losing your orientation. Landmarks and the static map are a big helper though. My only complaint would be that sometimes you can teleport right next to the monster which results in instant game over.
The game could have been very interesting, but due to lack of experience it didn't work out that way. Continue studying the unreal engine and game development in general, then you can make a game that everyone will like.
And so if you remove the teleportation when walking into walls and instead slow down the monster and improve its intelligence, you will get a good game. In which you can have fun.
It was an experiment for sure. For me, making something unique is much better than making something everyone has already seen before like a basic side scroller.
I get this error when I try to play. I'm sure the problem is on my end somehow since the other comment was able to. Dunno how to fix it though. Sorry about that.
An interesting concept and I enjoyed the rather abstract art style (including the design of the monster) although it is difficult to tell what is on the screen at times due to the flat-shaded nature of the art style.
