GhostArcana rated Daybreak in Snowhere Chapter 1

A downloadable game for Windows and macOS.

The aesthetic of this game is really charming and the characters are really cute, but the overall awkwardness of the controls made it really, really hard to appreciate it.

For example, the mouse doesn't get locked to the window or hidden while playing the game, which is really distracting! I'd really like to be able to use the mouse because the auto-camera does not feel very good to play with in my personal opinion. Also, the controls are kind of awkward in general with how they're placed. I guess it's kind of better when you're using the arrow keys instead of WASD, but that feels really unnatural to me.

Additionally, the movement feels kind of awkward and hard to control, which is something that is really hard to ignore when the game is a plat-former. I noticed some small graphics issues as well like responses sometimes not fitting correctly into their buttons when talking to NPCs (you can see this when you talk to the owl griffin) and that just kind of added to the unpolished feel.

I really don't mean to rag on this game but I would love to be able to enjoy it without being bogged down by the jank. I would really like to see these things ironed out so that the game could really shine to its fullest extent. (Also... not as urgent but I'd love some controller support and the ability to go full-screen.)
