I liked the idea of making a rougelike RPG battle mechanics an explicit puzzle.
The amount of polish is nice too:
There are small QoL touches like having the number of stars around a stunned skeleton indicate the number of turns remaining.
Though as inherent in puzzle games, balancing the difficulty curve and repetitiveness (some repetitiveness initially is good to learn, but then quickly annoys) is hard to get right.
And writing can be made deeper and more fused with play.
