This game is a perfect guide for how NOT to handle the new player experience. I'm immediately presented with multiple unskippable, un-fast-forwardable, slowly scrolling walls of mostly filler text with almost no important info, asked to choose a game mode AND difficulty AND player stats+skills before I have any idea what impact any of it has on the gameplay, dropped into a cutscene with text that not only can't be skipped but advances on its own (so if you're a slow OR fast reader you're boned), and then dropped into what appears to be a read-the-manual text-dump style tutorial, which is much worse than a literal game manual, because at least I can crack open the manual whenever I want during gameplay and get through it at my own pace! I immediately want to turn off the music, but when I pull up the music menu, the bottom of the menu - where the controls to stop the music and close the menu are (for some reason the "close" button on prompts is at the bottom, not the top like every other piece of software ever made) - is hidden behind the tutorial text prompt. I close the tutorial prompt to get to those controls, and then realize I can't re-summon the tutorial prompt. I give up and uninstall the game.
