PublicLewdness rated Belladonna

A browser game made in HTML5.

Belladonna has some great art and music to it but the story isn’t very well developed. You can finish a play through in a few minutes depending on your choices but regardless of what end I got it didn’t really do a good job of explaining back story or epilogue. You also can;t manually save so after each end you have to start from scratch and skip from choice to choice to try different options. Sometimes having a lot of endings isn’t as fun when few to none of them feel like a real ending or tie up the story nicely.

I played Belladonna on Linux. It never crashed on me and I didn’t notice any spelling errors. Alt-Tab didn’t work.

Game Engine: Ren’Py 7.4.2.1292
Graphics API: OpenGL
Game Version Payed: 1.1

GPU Usage: 0-17 %
VRAM Usage: 353-401 MB
CPU Usage: 1-3 %
RAM Usage: 1.6-1.7 GB

There are worse visual novels out there but there are far better as well. I paid $1.29 CAD for Belladonna and was able to get to three endings in 12 minutes of play time.

My Score: 4/10
