Extremely cute! I am left with a lot of questions, which is a good thing in a point & click adventure, because I know that I can only discover the answers by continuing to play.

For such a little peak into the story, you've already laid a lot of groundwork in understanding & creating a connection with the main character and his relationships with other people, as well as how he views the world (in shades of optimism & pessimism). 

I also (intermittently) experienced the text overlapping bug in the comment above, which was a bummer, since most items didn't want to be interacted with again (to have another shot at reading them).
