Ryarod rated Bleed

Ryarod rated a game 4 years ago
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Oh man, there's much to say about Bleed. Most of the weapons are fun to use; the platforming elements help spice up fighting and navigating a bit; the bullet time is fun to use and improves gameplay; the plot is dark and meaningful while still being funny and tongue-in-cheek,  Wryn's a loveable psycho waifu and I want to hug her into the night and brew her coffee in the morning and discuss which local preschools have the best classes while assuring her our daughter will not be traumatically bullied for lacking a nose, take your pick.

I suppose if I had to nitpick one thing it's that the scoring system is a tad more unforgiving than it should be. I would understand the time limit in a challenge where the targets don't fight back, or in competitive where players should get a reward for preventing the other player from scoring for long enough, but for a single player game against enemies against whom timing is everything, it can feel unfair.

Altogether Bleed stands out as a likable and successful game. If I ever make a 2D platformer/twin stick shooter hybrid, I hope to look to Bleed as a comparison for success.

Mr. Campbell you crazy gem of the Canadian nation, keep up the great work. Please consider coming back to give your success a strong visit sometime.

On a side-note I remember your words on your website giving permission to monetize on Bleed, at least when it comes to YouTube. Heads up; if hell freezes over and I actually gain some fame I might take you up on that.
