I think when a game uses an SRD the mark of a good one is how well it hides the SRD behind itself and goes "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain". Black Hole Era brings you an interesting setting and a really unique approach to exactly what a character is and uses LUMEN to make sure the walls are sturdy and well supported.

BHE also gets the nihilism right. I haven't played it yet but I can imagine myself catching my breath between waves and wondering "Why don't we just let the Extropians win? Is this really the dawning of our civilization, or are we just standing a vigil?"
