This game is great, and a brilliant, short work of art. I loved the cozy feel of the apartment and the almost overwhelmingly calming music, with the noisy chatter out the windows a brief hint as what's to come. Even while I mentally prepared myself, I wasn't ready to actually step outside. The overwhelming claustrophobia of the hallway felt crowded even though there were only two people- two people whose maskless faces seemed to follow me no matter how far I tried to get from them. Not scary in a vacuum, but I couldn't bring myself to look them in the face nonetheless. The elevator opening into a crowd of people was more effective than any jump scare could be, even though I realized as soon as I hit the button what would likely happen. Around every corner in the stairs I found myself dreading who might be next. I kept thinking, "please, let there be nobody there". Once outside I lost that feeling of claustrophobia, but the anxiety remained- a good representation of how you feel going outside, knowing that there's nobody around you, but that you're still surrounded by people. The car is that light at the end of the tunnel (I thought it being illuminated by the streetlamp was very clever!), but even as I got in and the game cut to black, all I could think was "Please, please don't make me go to the store". This game accurately captures every single fear and anxiety I've had trying to process over a year of a global pandemic in under five minutes. In ten years, I hope this game can help people understand how it felt to be living in this time period. Great music, awesome sound design, simple but effective graphics/models, absolutely stellar atmosphere, all come together to create a very honest and effective work of art. Great work, all involved!
