One of the best Apocalypse Engine games ever. Vel Mini has an amazing understanding of the genre she's trying to emulate and the engine she's working in. Look no further for your classic "fantasy heroes saving the world" story ever again. The rules are a little conceptual, and players of more numbers-heavy and  combat-focused rpgs will need to let go of their preconceptions on how to play rpgs. If you get it, though, you realize that the setting is also very hackable. You can play The Elf as a perfect Legolas expy, or you could reskin that playbook to play a GREY ALIEN FROM CLASSIC SCI_FI and only have one different ability! And they would both work! As long as you're ready to tell the type of story this game was made for, you're going to have a good time.
