A really delightful game based on the match 3 mechanics a la Bejeweled, but that expands on so much more than just matching similar blocks. Most of the blocks can be matched for one effect or clicked on to trigger another , allowing for extra layers of problem-solving during gameplay. But what really sets this game apart is the way that it allows and requires the player to plan ahead. All enemies have distinct behaviors that add fun logic puzzle elements to the game. It's all well and good to know where an enemy is, but to also have to figure out how to have a bomb set where they will move to is tricky. Also, by keeping the battle grid the same from the end of one fight to the beginning of the next, the game makes it possible to set up combos for an upcoming boss fight. You can engage with this game on a simple level by just playing fights as they come at you, or you can play 4D chess and really set yourself up for complete success.
