I'm not die hard platformer fan but a few things stuck out to me when playing: 1. The twin stick style lent itself to a fair number of frustrating deaths especially when the will o' wisp gets caught on obstacles; 2. The lack of story beats during the game lessen the overall experience; 3. The comments. Oh my god the comments. Platformers are hard (at least for me), you die a lot. What makes working through a challenging section infuriating is constantly seeing "big ouchie" and "I'll make it through this, I hope" each time you retry.
Look. Overall the game takes a novel approach and I think it's execution is strong. I just think that if the main mechanic isn't drawing you in, it may be a hard sell.
