The branch mechanic is one that I've not seen before. I liked seeing this new idea (to me at least) explored in this game.
The prestige resetting all the branches was sometimes too punishing for me to get back on my horse and see what was coming next. If there's anything beyond different flavours of math curves behind each update, I'm not sure the payoff is worth all the pain.
I also feel like the game dev metaphor doesn't track the longer I stick around. Why would gaining fame deplete my capital reserves? It doesn't scan after a while, nor does the idea that I can squeeze more hours' worth of work into the day. Almost seems pro-crunch at times.
