this game asserts (and lets us enjoy) that places, people, and things can be magic. it's the tabletop equivalent of those animated pixel art gifs of a city street where a banner softly billows in the breeze and the lights on a vending machine blink (which is not to detract from the actual art in the book, which is stunning)
