Came for the cute bunnies, stayed for the good puzzle design and the blossoming romance!
Initially, I was kind of peeved by the restrictive movement. The fact that horizontal and vertical movement each have a separate action, breaks the flow of the game a little. However, as the game progressed, it stopped feeling like a nuisance and started feeling more like a gimmick. I think the level design is to thank for that, since the puzzles are very clearly designed with this restrictive movement in mind. On the subject of the levels still, I like how they are large and interconnected, which makes traversing them feel like part of the puzzle, rather than the level design being separate from it.
The puzzles use a variety of creative mechanics and they are generally very satisfying to solve. If anything, I wish some of the mechanics had gotten more time in the spotlight, especially the ones that got introduced in the last stage. But overall, the puzzle design was excellent, definitely the game's strongest aspect.
The presentation is cute, charming, a little rough around the edges sometimes, but generally pretty to look at. Probably my favourite thing about the presentation is getting to change the color palette of the main character; it almost made collecting new palettes more exciting than collecting the bunnies. And the soundtrack especially is a great one! Small, but full of catchy tunes that I didn't mind listening to for the duration of the game! I might have to buy this soundtrack on bandcamp, for which my thanks that it's available at all!
And then as a final footnote, I'd like to give a quick shout-out to the simple, but charming story. Seeing this romance gradually blossom was a neat touch that made seeing this familiar face again a pleasant experience! It fits the cute aesthetic and aim of the game to a tee.
Overall, even though it took a bit for me to warm up to the game, I eventually ended up really enjoying it and I would heavily recommend it to anyone looking for a cute puzzle platformer!
P.S.: I did encounter some random slowdown at some places in the final level, after having little to no technical hiccups the entire game. This slowdown tended to stick around until the player was caught by one of the shadow monsters or the room was reset. That's all I have to note in terms of technical issues. The game functioned as intended for the rest of the experience.
