I would not recommend this game; it feels clunky, slow, unpolished, and unrefined. I have played only 3 runs on basic difficulty and cant be bothered to go on as too many things are against it.
The graphics looks ok; its good but you really cant enjoy it much with how far out the camera is.
The combat is the main feature and feels bad mechanically and gameplay wise.
The gameplay problems was combat felt slow with a real balancing problem where monsters increase or decrease speed to prevent your character from ever going, which in turn slowed combat to a crawl. Even when you do get to your turn, combat feels bad. Picking skills were underwhelming as you get tons of options, it didn't feel important or impactful. The skill system combined with the stat system seems like a fun combo but i felt wasnt implemented well enough to bare with this game.
Mechanically; some sprites didn't line up with the actual click box. This extends to awful collisions when trying to navigate the map. Healing / buffing enemies while fun at first, later on got really annoying. I felt a lot of time was wasted waiting for enemy actions to complete.
Technically i feel the game is un-optimized though i don't have any background in game development to give real criticism. But i don't get how a game at this level needs 8 GB of ram and 2 GB of storage when it does so little. It just feels un-optimized and unpolished.
I hope to follow Quarter Onion on their future projects because while Emberlight is not a good game; its their first and a start which is better than most. I wish them best of luck on their future projects.
