I adore this game. It's a point-and-click adventure set a near future in Norco, Lousiana. There is an immense amount of love for the region and genre, the sort of dystopia we find ourselves in today, yet exacerbated with technology.

Your player character has been away for a while, and comes back to find strange things happening to your family and home. The game has almost a sort of spiritual reverence for the city, with its flaws, suffering, history and all. The artwork and music are absolutely excellent.

The story just carries you along as you jump between perspectives and slowly piece together what's going on. I felt a familiar sense that there's this sort of hurt and misery taking place in small town USA, and a religious need to fix or escape it somehow, mystically if needed.

This isn't the first game to give me that impression. (For example, Night in the Woods) But it's just as raw and real with characters who are just trying to get by, while others are playing games with their lives using their money and power. The game gets WEIRD, and it works.

The few RPG-style combats are a neat quirk to mix up gameplay some as well. Overall, I'd say that if you're looking for an adventure game, appreciate swampy Louisiana, or just want a narrative that just keeps going weirder and wilder, NORCO is completely worth checking out.
