Regardless of my feelings about C# as a programming language, Code Romantic does an excellent job touching upon and explaining many Computer Science I concepts, and even starts touching upon some more complicated ones.
The story is charming, and the protagonist is easy to empathize with. The cast is varied and fun, and while the animation is a little rudimentary, it works fine. The romance plot is sweet, and the writing is very good at leaving it up to the player's interpretation.
If anything, my only real complaint would be that some of the side characters don't get their share of the limelight. Fabi especially doesn't get a chance to shine. Alice is written well, and I appreciate her being in the game.
I definitely have to recommend this title. It's a fun Visual Novel, but it offers a very welcoming approach to understanding beginner-level programming. The players don't have to worry about picking "the right words", as they're given guidance. So if you like programming or want to learn, and you enjoy a cute romance, definitely try it out!
Unfortunately, I AM left wanting for more. I hope we get to see more of what happens to our cast and the adventures of Mina Lovelace!
