love the characters, setting and over arching story. however, the cases have unsatisfying conclusions that are a little too easy and straightforward. The first case is literally solved by going "do you have the mcguffin? great give it to me. here it is, supernatural being" and thats it. All the mysteries end pretty abruptly  and anti climatically for how long it takes to get there. I'm still curious enough to keep reading, but i expect the ending of the main story line to be the same. Tentatively hoping the smaller plots will give them the practice they need to write a more satisfying ending for the over arching plot.
While some choices can be very good, there are also a lot of choices that are exactly the same with wording that isnt different enough to tell you why the choice matters at all. many of them were "i understand, i understand, i understand, i understand and i empathize, fuck this guy" instead of being different enough to obviously be showcasing different personality traits.
