It's just wasted. The first encounter with the first girl is such a mess, and gets worse every turn. Acting hostile, giving an insincere apology while still blackmiling him, and then talking about respect she doesn't have.  It's as if we're supposed to hate her, but then the MC is all apologetic for her and acts as if she wasn't putting his entire life at risk of being ruined any minute until she deletes the photo. That doesn't make her look better, it makes the MC look weak and needy. So, instead of resolving the conflict or having the MC show the smallest bit of backbone, the author tries to gaslight the player and convince us to like her. Trying to convince someone to like an unlikeable character, rather than writing her in a way that is likeable or just writing the MC's reaction to hostile behavior in an equally hostile manner.

It's so insulting to see the author put excuses in the MC's mouth as if the player was an easily manipulated retard, while not understanding how it only makes people hate both characters more, and then just throwing his hands up and blaming players for "taking it too seriously" when he's the one who screwed this up in the frst place.
