Taking less than 5 minutes to play through, Breakout Poetry uses the mechanics of the classic arcade game Breakout (bouncing a ball off a paddle to hit/remove rectangular bricks) to, essentially, make fridge magnet poetry.
Positives: It's a fun and interesting way to gamify magnetic poetry. The word choices are both simple and thematically rich, leading to some surprisingly vivid images like "sunlight comes / to destroy / the altar" or "I witness / the dragon / eternal."
Negatives: Very short (only 4 poems). No sound/sfx, especially obvious when bouncing the ball or hitting bricks. Scoring is literally random (reading the dev's blog confirmed it) and completely unnecessary given the entire point of the game is just to string together the words in an interesting/poetic way.
