BringingTelos rated Shadow of the Wolf

A downloadable game.

I love the narrative setting of the college, as well as the relationship system with different NPCs, each character feels very different and interesting. The extra tables for generating students and classes are a great tool to help flesh out the setting, and I felt that the primer in section 1 provided a good amount of interesting and important information without feeling too wordy or dry.

Personally I found the confrontation in Beat 2 a little off, but it accomplishes its intention and doesn't drag the scene out. I enjoyed all the other Beats in the campaign though, as well as the "continuing the story" section.

I like that Combat 8b has separate destructible terrain assets, but wish there was similar assets for some other maps too.

I would have also liked if the other 4 "notable" faculty had art so that I could keep the same aesthetic when representing them to players. Or maybe an asset of the yellow orb behind the existing art so I could easily add it to proxy character art I find. The art that is included is fantastic though, I even printed out some of it for the front of my GM screen for running this campaign.

Overall, I'm glad I picked this adventure as the starting point for my first Lancer campaign. The content continuously inspired me to add onto it, my players felt immersed and motivated to explore the world and its inhabitants, and the setting provided some great plot hooks for possible future missions. I'm excited to see what comes next!
