Mixolumia is kind of bafflingly good. The core mechanic is deceptively simple and incredibly well polished. Relaxed mode is... well... beautifully relaxing. Great to zone out to. The other modes in turn pose real challenges that lead to moments of scrambling to find a good block placement and then surprised relief when the board clears in unexpected chain reactions.
The sound design matches the gameplay in intrigue and polish. Every part of the music and sfx is seamlessly interwoven, setting the tone for play, evolving as the game speeds up, and rewarding good moves.
This is a game I expect will become a mainstay when I'm looking for something that has a bit of challenge, but is great to kick back with.
