As a debut novel(la), this is a great fun read. The concepts are great, and the writing isn't overloaded or too simplistic. Characters could perhaps be a little more rounded, and there's a clear progression in Steven's writing, but this is a very worthy intro to the world (universe?) of The Embassy.
