marmoset13 rated Crimson High

marmoset13 rated a game 6 days ago
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android.

I really liked Crimson High until the MC said that his dad had married another guy after the MC's mom died. Too bad. I would have given it 5 stars.  I really don't like having woke ideology woven into a story just because someone wants to ingratiate themselves to a tiny group of mentally ill people.

This AVN feels as if it was written by two people. One writes nearly perfect, and the other makes mistakes like a non-native English speaker or writer would.

"Big people breaths" sounds condescending. It really should be "Take deep breaths."

I loved Nene's Noire cosplay!

Mariko, Touka and some of the other very long-headed females look bizarre because they have eyes, noses and mouths set at unattractive intervals on their faces.

Mana's sister was not being held hostage. She was being held captive to be sold as a slave. A hostage is one who is being held for ransom, whether it be money, goods, another person or political leverage.

Almost every VN writer uses "anyways" incorrectly. 'Anyway' is almost always the correct choice. "Anyways, I don't like it." This way of using "anyways" is incorrect. It should have been: "Anyway, I don't like it".

The writer uses "too" when they should have used "either". "I don't understand a lot of it, too" when it should have been written: "I don't understand it either". The writer constantly uses the wrong preposition in sentences. They also used 'if' improperly in place of 'as'.  The way they add unnecessary (and often erroneous) words to sentences is incredibly annoying.

'Cutie' is what you call an underage girl. Suzu should be called something more age appropriate like sexy or beautiful.

The writer doesn't know that much about firearms. Their pertinent vernacular is quite lacking to say the least. I was a Gunner's Mate (Guns) in the US Navy. Cylinder is not a correct descriptor for ammunition. We called them rounds or ammo. Not bullets and certainly not cylinders (wtf?). You don't switch out cylinders on a revolver when reloading. The cylinder is also not called a drum. An example of a drum magazine is like the one used with a Thompson submachinegun. You can load a revolver with a speed loader. It's also not called a cylinder.

It's Styx's not Styx'.

The MC's vehicle is not a bus or a minivan. It's a full-sized van.

Some of the characters look like they escaped from an episode of 'Bleach'. ðŸ˜†

The writer should not advertise his/her political affiliation when writing a visual novel. It's quite tacky no matter what party you are backing. The game supposedly takes place in Japan, but the writer mockingly names a US political party, not the Japanese Socialist party or the Liberal Democratic party.
