When I read an RPG zine I typically expect a short, mechanically light game. They're the beautiful cupcakes of my RPG diet.
No Stone Unturned doesn't fit that model. These 50 pages are D E N S E L Y P A C K E D with enough game to fill much larger book. It's much more of a "real" RPG than I was expecting. There's collaborative session zero procedures, a play cycle with varied mechanical levers to explore over multiple sessions, and even a robust downtime phase.
I love the rotating GM-responsibility structure and the way the die resolution system asks players to consider the consequences their actions might have on the world.
