As I've been redoing most of my old ratings and reviews, I decided to try this out again, and I ended up having even more issues than I did before. I still don't know how to use it properly. I was able to get it to load the provided pv8 files but I couldn't load them normally and none of the programs in them worked.
I also had trouble getting it to run. I was using the Linux version in Linux Mint and, while it worked perfectly fine on an older version of Ubuntu, it kept giving me errors about not having a valid ICU package. I already had some installed and even after installing some others, it still wouldn't work and the only way to get it working was to use "export DOTNET_SYSTEM_GLOBALIZATION_INVARIANT=1" before running it.
I should also mention that I'm not a programmer and I don't plan on being one but I'd probably go with TIC80 instead of this. TIC80 works in Linux, drag and dropping files into TIC80 works in Linux and TIC80 is still in development as far as I can tell. It's unfortunate that PV8 isn't worth using because it does seem to provide more features than TIC80 and it seems more flexible for free users as well but PV8 just doesn't work well.
