I've been playing a good bit of Star Hauler solo over the last few days and had a fantastic experience! Ran into a situation where a refugee crisis adjacent to a system with an industrial strike lead me to devise a scheme to smuggle desperate refugees in as scab workers (real scumbag move, but profitable!) In another instance a complication table made my desperate rush to bring med to a pandemic stricken world moot as the illness ended. I decided to cut my losses by selling the prescribed med on the black market! All exciting and adventurous stuff stoked by the dice rolls and charts, letting my brain fill in the blanks in surprising ways. Runs as expected!
The version I played does have an issue where bullet points staggered across sections, and I would love to see common procedures have all their steps appearing on a single page - but my only gripes are quality of life issues. If a future revision had even more random tables or subbed out 1d12 tables for more robust d66 charts I would dig that too!
