fluffbug rated Caliross, The Shapeshifter's Legacy

fluffbug rated a game 31 days ago
A downloadable game for Windows.

Though the story is decent, the nsfw parts are lacking

The sex scenes are littered with instances of simultaneous orgasms, the mc is once described as having a G-spot (prostate), and there are several descriptions which are more subjective to the individual's taste regarding how hot they care (such as "unloading his creamy cargo"), which I personally found more funny than anything

The various "love interests" paths that you can't take feel more like fuck buddies with no actual deep feelings involved outside of perpetual lust

Various scenes, which consist of the mc being hypnotised, insist on the fact that the pleasure that compels her to act is affecting her pussy, and most of the time it's worded in such a way that makes me laugh and breaks my immersion

The dragon transformation feels as if it was included as a means to an end for the final showdown, unlike the previous three, which introduce important mechanics of the game and important lore

The demon race, which is apparently extremely important to the lore, is only introduced properly in the final stretch of the game, with only an optional lore book in the royal library that you can read beforehand in order to realise that they exist

Interacting with Hanatora through her statues and interacting with her in person is like talking with two different characters: one is an arguably evil godess who brainwashes you into being her servant and wants to use you to presumably free herself, end humanity, and I *assumed* use you as breeding cattle to replenish the shapeshifter race in order to get a better foothold in this world and have pepole with which she can create and/or breed an army into existance, and the other is a misguided/misunderstood motherly godess who is suffering because of humans.

I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt and say that it is actually a persona due to her "she who wears a thousand masks" epithet, but that's not made clear at all, and it just feels like the dev is afraid to make her evil

The statue path was very disappointing, as finding all of them leads to a handful of different scenes at the start of chapter 6, followed by the two "converging". I wouldn't feel like that if "your choices don't matter"/"everything was determined from the start"/etc was an established theme, but in this game, making the wrong choice can lead to game overs titled "bad ends", so I felt that it was reasonable to assume that the statue path would have lead to a "true bad end", which is not the case

A lot, and I mean *a lot* of the character sprites are borrowed from The Last Sovergin (or at least I assume so, as the game has a consistent art style while this one doesn't), so if you have played it and know the characters in it, you will probably find a few familiar faces with very different personalities and places in the world, which you will probably find jarring

One more, less important thing that I remember is that the word "godspeed" is used, which I find quite funny, as the in-game religion is polytheistic

Overall, I feel like the game would have been better if it were not nsfw, or if the dev had more experience with such scenes in written form
