Played this in a ttrpg book club recently, tons of fun!The bonds and edges are varied and fun, by the time I read through them all I had three different characters in mind I wanted to play, landed on "The Wall", brick of a woman.
Traveling on the road and figuring out how each character contributes to the journey was fun, though as the person who most often ended up doing the entertainment, it felt a bit hard to keep being fun on command, especially with the threat of stress looming over us. Fun in theory, and at first lead to some nice ice-breaker moments and role-playing opportunities, but after a couple sessions it felt kind of hard to keep up. There's something good in there, with that idea! But it could use some kind of change I think, instead of potentially punishing a party not being entertaining, maybe rewarding them would feel better? (ie. healing 1d4 stress on entertaining instead of taking stress from not entertaining)
The variety of skills, stats, bonds and edges makes for a lot of great fun when building your character. Want to be an unarmored brick wall of a woman repelling shotgun shells with your face? You got it. Swift gunslinger who's always ready to be on either side of an ambush? Hell yea baby. Zombie doctor? Kinda weird, but sure! The Blue Wizard? Now we are talking babyyyyy!!!
I'm very excited to see where this game goes, and am excited to keep playing it in the future!
