Update 2/1/26: Thanks so much for making a Mac version! There's tens of us :)
Old: What a fantastic game! I was looking for a weird, retro experience with a bit of mystery and a lot of character - like Hypnospace Outlaw. I enjoy games in...whatever genre this is, it's hard to describe. But they're rare. And once I realized I was in the settings way too long because the music kept me there, I knew I had a gem on my hands.
Anyway, Blippo+ is a game where you've received a device with a hidden capability; you're able to tap into the signal of a distant cable TV provider. It has a late 70s-early 90s public access/late night TV feel - the kind of stuff you stayed up late secretly watching on Saturday night, even though you knew you should be in bed...suspicious scrambled channels and all :)
The costumes were great. The acting was a mixed bag, but it added to the realism. I liked the psychic lady and Neomie Lifto the most. The dancing and exercises were the fun sort of cringe you feel when you look at old videos of yourself attempting to be hip: "Hey, it's what we did back then!"
I do want to note that this game isn't something you play, exactly? You're seeking out patterns and clues to the story in what you watch or read, but you don't really need a notebook. You just have to dust off the old there's-no-pause-gotta-change-the-channel-before-I-miss-something skill. But the shows cycle, so even that's no big deal.
I wrote this essay to say that I highly recommend this experience. I hope the developers add more. The team clearly left plenty of space to continue the story, but it doesn't end on a cliffhanger - there are credits and an ending, I promise!
