Oh my gosh, WOW. what a great virtual novel. Just... man. SOLID.

I enjoy writing and reading interactive VNs (especially romantic ones) but end up putting many of them down because they're too wordy or too punishing (because of my choices) to enjoy. Wilder was like a Goldilocks find for me!

From a purely design-based point of view, I loved the large, easy to read text and how the story often stopped to ask how I would like it to continue. I never felt like I was reading a wall of text, and even though there were a lot of choices everything blended seamlessly--I was so shocked that there were only two endings, the story practically felt like it was writing itself along with me!

Speaking of the story, I was taken for a real rollercoaster ride. Without spoiling too much, you can expect a lot of fun twists and turns that make it impossible to put down. Furthermore, emotionally, It's paced beautifully. From chapter to chapter I found myself sighing sweetly, bursting into tears, and just exclaiming "damn!" out loud. The fact that the writer wanted to tell a good story, not just a good love story, shows. Not to mention the romance was compelling all on its own. While reading I was so impressed with how the writer confronted the fact that this was a romance between people from different social classes, and spoke about the relationship between their feelings and the imbalance of power. It didn't pull any punches and made the story so grounded and real.

I can't praise this game enough. My only criticism is that, selfishly, I wanted to see more art of all the characters and the romantic moments. But I hope that in the future, with as much support as I can give, the developer will be able to create more, even better wonderful stories like this!
