namenotrecognised rated Empire of Heroes

A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Has potential, and serious problems.

Most conversations are 1 main render with some variation in the zoom and cycling between 5 different facial expressions.

The second, and main issue is that the dialogue is very heavy on "tell, don't show".

I've rarely seen character thoughts be done well in VN's, most of the time they are misused to explain the characters to you without having to show anything. This game seems to fall into the same trap.

Nothing is left up to your interpretation or kept uncertain. Most dialogue seems to be written with the explicit purpose of explaining events, worldbuilding elements, or character motivations.

In short, it feels like the prologue is trying to get all the needed set-up out of the way as quickly as possible so it can get to the rest of the story.
