Peak Literature of the Highest Order.

Never have I read something that has made me feel the way I had when reading this. Seeing characters I've grown to care about being ground into nothing but shells while they are completely aware of what is happening to them is terribly upsetting, but seeing the fleeting glimpses of hope pushed me to keep reading on. I was really impressed with the character work done for the primary characters. The beginning with Sable was written wonderfully. I could FEEL the dread building as she learned of Belle's fate, only doubling when it was obvious it was going to be Sable's fate as well. The conditioning process was made really well too, I loved the descriptions of the tactics The Handler used and how Liquid Starlight altered those under it's influence. I was admittedly worried when the perspective changed to a different character for the first time, but I was happily surprised to see the quality stayed consistent throughout the story.

Aside from the character writing, I really fell in love with the world of the story. From the small bit of info we get about the Rebels, the little peaks into the planet's pre-war past in passing dialogue, and even to the inner working of the Imperial Base the characters find themselves in for most of the story. A big standout to me were the Mechs themselves: Cry Havoc/Vox Veritas with it's Sonic Shield and Termite with it's Corpse-Grinder and Cadaver Cannon (Peak weapon designs, Termite's kit is so unbelievable cool that I feel comfortable saying nothing will ever top it in the coolness department).

If you can look past all of that rambling, what I'm trying to say is Thank you for writing this story. It truly is something special to me and I find my self thinking about it often. I wouldn't change a damn thing about it, even despite how awful it made me feel when reading it at times. Please don't stop making things, we need more art like this in the world.

PS. A reference sheet with artwork showing off the main characters and their Mechs, ESPECIALLY the Mechs, would be awesome (I'm just really interested in the scale of these things, especially Termite, Amberstahl, and the basic Doru).
