I rated this game a few years ago but I didn't review it for some reason, so I replay the game so I could actually review.

Anyways, this game is pretty good but I'm not really a fan of rougelikes. I like RPGs when I can prepare for what ahead but rougelikes like this are too random and unpredictable. I've never been able to get very far in any of them, even after playing for several days. If this game was structured more like either Lufia: the Legend Returns on the GBC or either of the two Enchanted Cave games made by Dustin Auxier (A.K.A. Okshur), then maybe I'd be able to make significant progress, but that would only work if Backpack Hero has an ending which I know is rare for rougelikes.

Also, I was able to play this game in Linux through Firefox and it seemed to run well. I would have tried the native Linux version but I'm not interested enough in this game to buy it. However, I will say that I will always appreciate games with native Linux versions.
