Echo 2: This Time It's Personal is a worthy successor to Echo, and perhaps even... surpassing it? :O

The writing is definitely the star of the show here. Despite the absurd premise and being a comedic game, it builds on OG Echo's character dynamics in a way that feels true to them even in its most out-there gags. While I doubt someone with prior knowledge would appreciate Leo refusing to put on a shirt or having to fight a speeding train, this IS a fan-servicey sequel after all.

The gameplay is also actually good for what is a short RPG Maker game. The 4-party team is quite well-balanced while being based on established traits of the characters. Flynn=Support / Carl=(Weed)Mage / Jenna=DPS / Leo=Support/Berserker just makes sense. It's also surprisingly difficult, and I realized during the final fight that I should have made better use of the in-game liquid gold economy as items got practically obligatory.

A fun and perfectly sized game for fans of Echo!
