A downloadable game for Windows and Linux.

This is a great game for anybody who wants to dip a toe into the "Pages-like" (as in "Slender: The Eight Pages") genre without having to commit too much time or be too scared; the game has effective tension, but it's not oppressive like other games in the genre.

You will have to figure out the specifics of how the rules work on your own; whether that's a plus or a minus is personal preference.  I'm in the minus camp on this point, so for me the initial experience sometimes felt a bit tedious and arbitrary.

On the plus side (for me), this game gets what I think is the most important thing in this genre right; once you've got the hang of things, you're not punished for exploration as long as you're patient and don't try to do too many things at once.

One specific thing I'd change is to get rid of that one tree stump.  It almost seems placed there deliberately to break up the player's "flow" and force a higher level of concentration, but personally I just found it irritating and tedious to deal with.  I don't want to go into further detail that some might consider a spoiler, but I imagine anybody who's completed the game knows which tree stump I'm talking about.  :)

I want to take a minute to shout out the "ambient mode" option in the settings; as someone who likes to take the time to explore things and poke around, I appreciate it when devs provide settings like this (or cheat codes) to let people experience the game on their own terms.

Overall, this is a nice single-session game that does what it came to do and doesn't overstay its welcome.  The atmosphere is tense without being draining, and a little bit of puzzle gameplay makes a nice diversion.
