For me, this is one of the great video game classics. When I first came across it, it confounded, confused, annoyed, fascinated, and then inspired me. It's the reason I'm making games today. I still play through these games every so often when I feel annoyed with video games, and it always gives me a charge and reminds me of why games are great.
